Peru: MACHU PICCHU $5,990

MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO - GEISERS DEL TATIO - SACRED VALLEY..

CUZCO, MACHU PICCHU & AROUND
The views are stunning when it comes to Machu Picchu and Cuzco, nothing in South America comes close. It is all here for you to ride, walk, drink, eat, dance and shop your way through.
The former capital of the Inca empire is well known for its amazing architecture, small streets, churches and its lively people and great cuisine.
This Inca settlement and Unesco World Heritage Site which came to light in 1911 when an American explorer by the name of Hiram Bingham brought its presence to the world is in the top ten list of things to see around the world. When combining it with a great motorcycle journey it must come close to the number one place on the list.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Flight Santiago - Arica. Arrival with flight from Santiago to Arica. Welcome dinner and briefing about our upcoming tour. We will spend a night in Arica, Chile before getting on our bikes for next day adventure to Peru..

Day 2: Arica - Arequipa. We will travel to Arequipa. The department of Arequipa is one of various terrains. It begins in the coastal desert and then climbs the Andes, reaching great altitude at the snow covered peaks and at its volcanoes.
Arequipa, known as the White City for its beautiful white walls of sillar, a volcanic stone, lies at the feet of the mighty volcanos of Mount Chachani, Mount Misti, and the snow covered peak of Mount Pichu Pichu. The downtown of the city, placed on the World Cultural Heritage list by UNESCO, features Mixed Baroque churches and mansions from the Colonial Period like the Monastery of Santa Catalina, a Spanish city in miniature with stone streets, beautiful patios, and plazas. Sabandía, Tiabaya, and Tingo, located among the large fields, are must see places, and the irresistible Arequipa cuisine is the perfect complement to the visit.

Day 3: Arequipa - Cuzco. We will leave to take the road to Cuzco, this is our longest day in all the trip, 630 km.. We will leave Arequipa very early. In this section the mountains range to a height between 3700 and 4500 ms. The panorama is of a beauty difficult to describe, crossing mountains and steppes covered with bushes, and populated by agriculturists who live in constructions that remind you to the rural architecture of Andalusia. The way is track (asphalt) and in good state, being the dogs and other animals practically the only danger. This and other neighboring towns live on agriculture and cattle ranch, there appear churches and constructions that make you leave perplex. The highway is enviably clean and our Chilean plastic bottles and bags shine there by their absence. The countryside is generally very clean and is respected by its inhabitants. We will lodge in Cuzco.

Day 4: Cuzco. We will do a city tour of Cuzco to experience the old city with its Inka ruins, local markets and amazing cusine.

Day 5: Cuzco - Sacred Valley. We will travel to Sacred Valley on midday, where we will visit the Maras and arrive to our hotel in Sacred Valley.

Day 6: Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Sacred Valley. Train to Machu Picchu. We will leave at around 6:00 am in the morning arriving at Machu Pichu at about 9:30 am to see the amazing site. We will return at about 3 pm.

Day 7: Sacred Valley - Puno. We will leave from Sacred Valley to Puno which is about 400 kms. There we will take the boat to the Uros Island.

Day 8: Puno - Arica. We will head to Arica through the Andes, about 630 kms. Sometimes we will be riding at about 5.000m a.s.l.. In Arica we will have our goodbye dinner.
