ITINERARY

Day 1 Santiago - Combarbala. We will start early in the morning to avoid rush hour in the crowded streets of Santiago, we will head north through the international Carretera San Martin,in direction to San Felipe, from where we will ride the amazing asphalt from Putaendo to Cabildo. After a typical Chilean lunch we will start an incredible adventure trough the old gravel roads, forgotten valleys and small towns. We will finish the day climbing up and down the defiant La Cuesta del Espino to sleep in Combarbalá. 380 km (60% Paved)

Day 2 Combarbala - La Serena. We will continue our adventure through wonderful dirt roads climbing the mountain range to Tulahuén passing along small villages of goat sheperds, then we will go down the wonderful Limari vine valleys, passing throught La Paloma Dam and the city of Ovalle. After filling out tanks we will continue deep into the beautiful Hurtado Valley where we will have time to rest and have a great lunch. Now we will get ready to start climbing the cordillera reaching the heights of the many observatories that watch the privileged skyes of the Elqui Valley. After a nice panoramic photo contemplating the beauty of the pisco valley, we will end our day in La Serena 320 km (60% Paved)

Day 3 La Serena - Bahia Inglesa. We will head north to the panamerican highway, climbing up the Cuesta Buenos Aires to enter the Atacama desert, the driest in the world,  where we will be impressed by the greatness of its scenery. After a lunch of typical Diner of Chilean food in Vallenar, we will continue north and stop at the beach town of Bahia Inglesa were we will enjoy it’s delicious sea food and rest. 420 km (70% Paved)

Day 4 Bahia Inglesa - Antofagasta. We will continue through the Panamerican highway following the ocean to then enter into the heat and the powerful winds of the desert, We will stop at the legendary Agua Verde Hosteria, a traditional stop for bikers and the last resource of fuel and food in this part of the desert. We will continue our adventure north, and stop for a picture at the legendary hand of the desert sculpture to get one of the most renowned photos of adventure motorcycle travelling, we will finish this day in the city of Antofagasta. 400 km (95% Paved)

Day 5 Antofagasta - San Pedro Atacama. We will head east on our way to San Pedro de Atacama not before stopping for a few pictures in Baquedano train museum.  From there we will take mining roads and climb the Cordillera de la Sal to go deep into the Salar de Atacama valley and Salt Flats, Mountains and Volcanoes. After this wonderful experience we will arrive to the world famous town of San Pedro de Atacama 390 km (50% Paved)

Day 6 Rest Day in San Pedro Atacama. Very early in the morning we will take a bus to visit the famous Tatio Geysers, Puritama Hot Springs, and the Moon Valley (optional), we will have time to walk through the town, visit the hand crafts market and other attractions.

Day 7 San Pedro Atacama - Tocopilla. We will head climb up the andes moutains, taking challenging dirt roads along the border to Bolivia to see one of the most amazing sceneries of the Chilean altiplano, hopefully we will see Llamas. After getting to the village of Chiu Chiu we will get back on pavamen to star our ride west towards Tocopilla 400 km (70% Paved)

Day 8 Tocopilla - Pan de Azucar National Park. We will head south from Tocopilla taking the beautiful pacific coast highway, we will stop for a picture at the Portada de Antofagasta Natural Monument. After leaving Antogafasta we will continue in beautiful recently paved roads of the coast highway that will take us to the Little  beach town of Taltal. After this we will go to Pan de Azucar National Park were we will sleep 570 km (95% Paved)

Day 9 Pan de Azucar National Park - La Serena. After enjoying the sun rise in beautiful Pan de Azucar we will continue our way south and if we are in good time and weather conditions allow we will take the coast salt roads towards Huasco, to later continue down to the beautiful beach city of La Serena were we will rest. 530 km (100% Paved) or (70% Paved)

Day 10 La Serena - Santiago. In our last day we will depart from La Serena passing along beautiful scenery of between the coast line and the the Cordillera de La Costa. We will make a stop for sea food lunch in Los Vilos, to get fast down to Santiago before rush hour starts. End of the tour. 480 km (100% Paved)
