Everytime you enter Chile you will be given a new visa, there are no limitations of how many times you can exit/ enter Chile as long as you do not exceed the amount of days you were given on your visa. You should bring a wet weather suit if your riding gear isn't waterproof. Other suggestions, such as especially warm or cold weather clothing requirements will be advised before your home departure and will of course depend on the actual circuit and the time of the year. You are able to hire a helmet from Ride-Chile.com if you don't have one.

HOW MUCH LUGGAGE SHOULD I BRING?
We suggest you use the rule of thumb method. Once you have you luggage packed and ready to go, reduce it by half and that should be about right. Seriously, with the exception of your riding gear (which should be the last thing to be sacrificed) you should be able to get away with 2 pairs of shorts, one or a maximum of two pairs of jeans or trousers, one pair of shoes, one pair of thongs (Flip Flops if you are American) or sandals, three or four T-shirts, five or six pairs of socks and 5 or 6 sets of underwear. HOW CAN I STAY IN CONTACT WITH MY FAMILY IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY?
Our support vehicle is equipped with a mobile phone and a satellite phone. You can accept calls during the day or in the hotels in the evening. Each bike is also equipped with a mobile phone which we have provided you with in case of an emergency. Any calls you make from this phone will be at your cost, but incoming calls are obviously free. Whilst you are more than welcome to use the satellite phone (where we have no mobile phone coverage) to call family and friends, charges will apply. We also try to stay at hotels and lodges which provide free access to the Internet and/or have Wi-Fi for those passengers who wish to bring their own personnel lap tops along.

WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT?

There’s also an option to bring our 4×4 support car for an extra fee. You need to buy health insurance to cover yourself in the case of an accident as this is not covered by us! Make sure to tell your insurance company that you will be riding a +500 cc motorcycle.

WHAT AIRLINE COMPANIES FLY FROM EUROPE / USA TO CHILE?
There are plenty to pick from, but be aware to search in good time to get the best price. Lufthansa, TAM and LAN are ones of them. We advice you to use Despergar.com as a good site to search for flights in and out of Chile.

HOW MUCH MONEY SHOULD I BRING TO CHILE AND WHAT IS THE CURRENCY?
Travelers checks are outdated, so forget them. We do not recommend carrying too much in cash as you will find ATM cash machines all over Chile so it is easy to get a cash advance from almost any major credit card in most cities. In Chile the currency is Pesos (1 USD = approx. 620 Chilean Pesos) In Argentina it is (1 USD = approx. 10 Argentinian Pesos). Budget to eat lunch and dinner will probably be around $20-50 USD dollars per day, plus personal expenses like non-included activities, souvenirs and drinks. Bring US Dollars to have some cash on you always, some restaurants or stores do not accept credit cards.
We do suggest however, that you bring a minimum of two separate credit cards just in case you lose one, like Visa, American Express or Mastercard. Now a days life is much easier, almost every small town has at least one ATM/ Automated teller machine to withdraw money from.

During our expedition you will have plenty of opportunities to get your shorts wet by visiting one of the rich beaches along the South Pacific/ Atlantic coastline. If not at the coast we will come by many lagoons and natural hot-springs.

HOW MANY KILOMETERS AM I EXPECTING TO RIDE PER DAY DURING TOURS?
Due to the technicality of the many routes (many curves) the average amount of kilometers is usually around 250-300 km per day, which can easily be 6 hour on the bike. On longer stretches we can accumulate as much as 500 km per day.

WHAT SHOULD I NOT BRING INTO CHILE?
Drugs, meat, vegetables, fruit, wood, sand, stones etc. (You will be checked on every entry to the country whether you come from airway or road)
Chile has strict rules of which things you can bring into the country in order to protect its rich agriculture and keeping farming healthy without any influences from other countries containing swineflue etc. Remember the whole country is protected like an Island from the north to the south with the high Andes mountains to the east and the vast Pacific ocean to the west. Please respect this and help us protect one of the most amazing natures of the world. See the all the instructions for which things you can bring and not bring into Chile here.
